Trek in India to Experience Life in High Altitude Regions



If you are planning to trek in India there is surely no better place than the Himalayas. All Himalayan states offer many trekking options with easy, moderate and challenging difficulties for all types of adventure seeking tourists but Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand are highly preferred trekking destinations in India. 


Ladakh, which is also known as the cold desert has trekking options like the Chadar river winter trek, zanskar Valley trek, Markha valley trek, Kharnak valley trek etc those give you the chance of exploring the natural beauty of the karakoram, Pir panjal and Zanskar ranges of the western Himalayas. On the other hand in Himachal one can go trekking in the Dhauladhar range and Chamba district, Kinnaur – Kailash circuit and Lahul Spiti valley are favorite trekking locations here.
Uttarakhand is considered by many as the trekking capital of the country. Two ranges of the Himalayas fall in Uttarakhand – the Garhwal range and the Kumaon range and due to great number of trekking options of varied difficulty levels. 

Most trek in India, especially in the western Himalayas are centered around Manali, a small and picturesque hill town in Himachal while in Uttarakhand, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Joshimath and Munsiyari are the base towns for trekking in the Garhwal and Kumaon Himalayas.
